Applications for Tornado Motion Technologies
Our services and capabilities are targeted
at three primary markets:
Commercial Markets
- Dredging of sediment from navigable
waterways and other bodies of water to
include reservoirs, storage ponds, etc.
- Mining
- Removal of materials, transport and
delivery to land fill site
- Industrial Services - Specialized Maintenance
Slurry Pipeline Material Transfer
- Transport of solid materials and high
viscosity fluids through temporary pipelines
as part of dredging operations.
- Transport of materials and high viscosity
fluids through permanent pipelines from
location "A" to location "B",
usually over long (miles) distances.
Tornado Motion Technolgies are are ideally
suited for dredging operations related to
the cleanup of:
- Municipal sewage sludge
- Oil sludge transfer
- Sand and gravel mining
- Oil well mud
- Silica sand
- Chemical sludge
- General mining
- Chemical waste
- Clay tailing ponds
|
- Industrial Waste
- Coal tailings
- Food processing waste
- Paper pulp
- Aerated slurry
- Sedimentary toxic waste
- Polymers
- #6 fuel oil
- Gunite
|
Environmental Markets
- Dredging of contaminated sediments from
navigable waterways, lakes, or ponds
- Clean up of contaminated areas with
transport to waste treatment facility.
- Mitigation of contamination from re-suspension
of solids during removal operations.
- Mine restoration/reclaimation
TMT provides a unique technology based solution
to material handling problems. In most cases
the scope of the overall project will go
beyond material removal and transport (e.g.
scope will include waste treatment and disposal).
In such cases, TMT will provide technology,
dredging equipment and key operating personnel
as a subcontractor to a commercial prime
contractor.
TMT will participate as a partner to the
prime contractor in preparation of sole source
proposals and presentations to the end customer.
TMT will be responsible for sediment removal
and material handling activities, while the
prime contractor will maintain the water
treatment and waste disposal tasks.
We offer the necessary tools of technology
needed for the Environmental Engineering
Task groups to form responsible and safe
guidelines as they establish Remedial Action
Plans (RAP's). Through years of experience,
TMT engineers have successfully answered
the major risk factors that make up the key
variables used when determining the best
and safest remedial approach. We apply our
approach to dredging with conscious fundamental
considerations in mind such as cost, not
compromising drinking water quality and the
success of the project as it pertains to
the overall risks to humans and the environment.
By tailoring the equipment to the surroundings,
rather than the opposite typically being
the case, the performance increases and the
risks decrease. The waterways of the world
deserve the best chance for recovery; they
deserve our best technology to that end.
Our drive to maximize production through
efficiency while still protecting the environment
has led us to some very smart technology
along the way that had never been seen or
offered in the past. Some examples of our "smart
technology" are as follows;
- vertical and horizontal movement for
pinpoint accuracy with articulating head
for complete removal of sediments
- a rotating guard that eliminates downtime
caused by nozzle or pipeline clogs
- under water cameras that assist the
dredge during normal removal process and
help to avoid over dredging of materials.
We also have the ability to locate and
safely control the removal of chemical
puddles that have collected in the base
material.
- no cables or turbidity curtains are
deployed to slow down removal process and
affect overall efficiency of the project
- self-advancing spud carriage systems
which help to increase overall project
efficiency by less time spent away from
actual pumping
- offer hospital grade (lowest noise
level) generators onboard for minimal environmental
and public impact
- high daily outputs achieved through
continuous run times due to low maintenance
hours and healthy average slurry densities
- trained professional supervisors and
crewmembers that are certified in Environmental
Safety and Training with respect to Hazardous
Waste Operations and Emergency Response
- electronic data instrumentation system
(DAS) offering key average daily output
levels to help with tracking progress and
for preventative maintenance practices
